1961년에 만들어진 뮤지컬 영화 'The young ones' 에서 영화의 주인공인 'Nicky'
역으로 Cliff Richard 가 출연하여 실의에 빠진 여자 친구'Toni' 와 햇빛 가득한 강가를
거닐며 데이트 하다가 용기를 잃지 말자고 하면서 이 노래 'The young ones' 를 부른다.
젊음의 불꽃이 활활 타는 한, 삶도 사랑도 두려워해선 안 되기에 내일은 젊음이 오지 않을
수도 있으니 지금 사랑해 달라며, 젊음은 꿈이 있고 미래가 있는 것 이라고 한다
이 노래는 1960년대 내내 그리고 현재까지도 클리프 리차드 최고의 히트곡으로 아니 그의
수많은 곡들 중에서 아직도 팬들에게 명곡으로 기억되는 노래이다
Cliff Richard 가 1969년 한국을 방문하여 이화여대 공연 도중 탁월한 외모와 감미로운
목소리에 여성 관중들로부터 많은 사람을 받았다.
